HISTORY & MISSION
The Engineering Resource's website was launched in December of 2024. It was started by Maxwell R. Carter, PE, CFM who is a licensed civil engineer from Huntsville, Alabama. The website has grown significantly in content volume and credibility by having over 190 webpages indexed on Google search. It has also been linked to by several universities including multiple Ivy League institutions, flagship state universities and engineering websites.
The mission of this website is to help engineering professionals, students or the general public find the best information sources for whatever engineering related topic they are searching the internet for information on. Whether they are seeking something technical, educational, or even inspirational.
Here you can find links to many federal agencies, hundreds of engineering associations, and the valuable resources that those organizations provide. From The Engineering Resource's website you can access technical information, engineering job boards, degree programs, scholarships, webinars, professional development training, conferences, licenses, certifications, software, business products, books, audiobooks, podcasts and movies about or for engineering.

Maxwell R. Carter is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama and Tennessee and a certified floodplain manager who began his civil engineering career upon graduating from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018. He has passed the Water Resources & Environmental Engineering version of the PE Exam and the Professional Surveyor's Exam.
The Engineering Resource currently operates on an annual budget of approximately $20. The website is free to access and contains no advertisements. The Engineering Resource does not need donations to stay online. If you wish to show appreciation to The Engineering Resource you are encouraged to share it with others and donate to The Hill Family Foundation's Grant Hill Memorial Fund which goes to support the Grant Hill Trauma Team at Kids to Love in Huntsville, Alabama. This team provides mental health care to foster and special needs families battling PTSD. According to Kids to Love founder Lee Marshall, as of 2025, 40% of prisoners in the US are former foster children. Grant was a legendary athlete, psychologist and friend. He set state records in discus and shotput and played football for The University of Alabama. Max and Grant were classmates, neighbors and lifelong friends since elementary school.
The Grant Hill Trauma Team moved into its new permanent facility on August 21, 2025. The Hill Family Foundation's Grant Hill Memorial Fund supports the team of counselors providing mental health care to children in foster and special needs families at Kids to Love.
